Former One Direction singer Liam Payne has sparked rumours of an upcoming boxing match against Love Island star Tommy Fury.

In a recent Instagram post, Payne shared a promotional poster featuring himself and Fury facing off in the ring, with Old Trafford in Manchester as the location. The post was captioned with an eyeball emoji, and a message teasing an announcement to come.

Fans were left confused and curious by the post, with some speculating that the two stars could be set to face off in this year’s Soccer Aid tournament. Others made light-hearted comments, referencing Payne’s past revelations about fights he had with his former One Direction bandmates.

One Instagram user commented, “This has to be fake,” while another questioned, “What on earth is going on here?”

The third person thought, “That will be interesting.”

Another perplexed admirer reacted, “NO CUZ WHAT ON EARTH IS HE THINKING,” in a message. Guys, I KNOW this is for football help. Liam can’t fight, one person argued.

Despite his musical background, Payne’s possible opponent, Tommy Fury, is a professional boxer. Fury also shared the post on his Instagram page, adding it to his story. While fans await further details of the potential match-up, it remains to be seen whether Payne, with no prior boxing experience, will actually step into the ring with Fury.

Liam opened up about his former Cheryl on the Car Crash podcast chat with Logan Paul last year, saying the birth of their son Bear in 2017 ruined their relationship.

In addition to discussing how his two-year relationship with the Girls Aloud singer ended, the former X Factor finalist also discussed his current relationship with the mother of his five-year-old son.

Along with Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam, he was one of the band’s founding members. Liam acknowledged that the five boys frequently got into arguments while they were hanging out as a group.

One time, during a dispute backstage, “one member, in particular, threw me up a wall,” Liam recalled in June. “I warned him that there’s a good chance he wouldn’t ever use those hands again if he didn’t take them off.”

Liam continued by saying that the unidentified bandmate did ultimately release his grip on him.
