Goal of the Session

The main goal of the session is to organise the themes for proper discussion with the overall group. It is crucial for the identification of the overall group what needs to be done and changed. The session further focuses on the assignment of the priorities for those themes and analysis of their importance at specific levels of organisation for which the cross functional team is developed.

Application of Nominal Group Technique for Achievement of Goal

The nominal group technique is a structured process for the brainstorming of different activities of a certain project (Bhandari & Hallowell, 2021). The process is crucial for the enhancement in the participation of the group members which is effective for the mitigation of the problems and inclusion of optimum quality in different activities (Srivastava et al., 2019). The nominal group technique is crucial for the sharing of feedback regarding the themes among the overall group (Kelly et al., 2020). The application of nominal group technique is essential in this process for the overall group regarding the activities and changes which need to be followed. The technique is also effective for the assignment of priorities for the themes and optimum fulfillment of the activities. 

Guidelines for Effective Participation

The project is inclusive of two major consulting groups such as internal and external. The main responsibilities of the internal consulting group is the recognition of structured approach and effective implementation of the nominal group technique. The main responsibilities of the external consulting group is the promotion of understanding of different priorities and the identification of issues at different levels of the organisation. Therefore, the main guideline for effective participation is the sharing of innovative information regarding the themes and development of proper solutions for the smooth completion of personal and collective assignments. The process is crucial for the entire group to develop the plan of actions and complete the entire group session effectively (Lacerenza et al., 2018).

Analysis of Specific Steps and Tasks for Achievement of Goal

It is identified that the group sessions are required to develop for the sharing of information for the development of key priorities and activities. The process requires the planning of two major groups. The large session is required to sport the exact patterns and identify the themes which can be used for the proper planning of the actions. The patterns and themes are expected to develop from the stop–continue–start charts which are handled by different functional groups. The main requirement of the small session is to review the work done by intact work groups.   

The main responsibilities of the internal consulting group is the recognition of structured approach and effective implementation of the nominal group technique. The main responsibilities of the external consulting group is the promotion of understanding of different priorities and the identification of issues at different levels of the organisation. The process is effective for the development of roles and responsibilities among the group members. It is crucial for the development of priorities among the entire group and allocation of proper resources for the fulfillment of the objectives (Dunnett et al., 2018).

Allocation of Time

The required time for optimum fulfillment of the activities is 2 hours. It requires 1 hour for the planning of two major sessions. The process requires another one hour for the allocation of proper roles and responsibilities among the internal and external consulting group.

Description of Voting Mechanisms

The HML priority approach is crucial for the overall demonstration of the priority level of different activities and themes. It is crucial for the development of the priorities in the objectives and themes for the entire group. The HML voting mechanism is effective for the understanding of high, medium and low levels of priority in different activities (Hoque& Low, 2020). It is effective for the understanding of required resources for the optimum fulfillment of different activities.

Potential Outcome

The main outcome of the planning process is the identification of the risks associated with different activities and themes. It is also expected that the group planning session will deliver proper risk management and resource engagement processes for the optimum fulfillment of the objectives.

Group Presentation for Other Levels

The group planning process and presentation to other levels is crucial for the delivery of information regarding the major issues. It is identified that the main challenges for the group planning process are engagement of resources, identification of the themes, time allocation, and decision making process. The presentation can help others to identify the issues and deal with them properly.
