Task: Which HR strategy (Hard vs. Soft HRM) is implemented in this hotel? Justify your answer with evidence.

Within the organizational workplaces, there are several methods and procedures available that strategically contribute towards the enhancement and the development of organizational performance and HR principles in a much appropriate manner. While doing so the companies are also actively incorporating a higher number of policies and procedures to maintain the efficiencies of its employee performance and maintenance of higher levels of employee management in a much appropriate and efficient manner (Thite and Bhatta, 2018). The Mercury Hotel, a US hotel chain that is strategically working towards a more appropriate and efficient manner.

The company is in this respect, has focused on the maintenance of a higher number of customer engagement and financial profitability that requires proper sets of HRM practices in a much appropriate and efficient manner. Moreover, the company is also providing some of the most efficient and effective sets of employee management programs that provide proper sets of flexibility in a much appropriate manner. Moreover, the company is also maintaining a proper set of customer engagement. The Mercury Hotel in this respect is also providing standard working hours to its three categories of employment policies. In which, the first category of employees are required to work about 39 hours a week, the second category of employees are supposed to work for about 25 hours a week and the three categories do not have any fixed working hours. This results in larger amounts of flexibility and efficiencies within the workplace and enhancement of employee growth in a much wider manner (Goyal and Patwardhan, 2020).  

Moreover, the company is also efficiently working towards the maintenance of employee involvement and communication, the Mercury Hotel has developed formal departmental meetings. This department is therefore working towards widening scopes for employee engagement in a much proper and sophisticated manner. The development of ‘Employee Forum’ is also providing a significant number of benefits to the employees regarding any of the issues and concerns of the employees related to any professional issues that they are facing within their respective workplaces. Despite having a significant amount of employee turnover rates, the company is working towards benefiting the employees in a much enhanced and sophisticated manner. From such perspectives, the company namely Mercury has incorporated their soft HRM practices within its business performances and widens its scopes for employee performance and motivation more firmly and efficiently.

This set of human resource management performance is not only helping the company to stabilize the employee motivational strategies and a higher level of employee participation, greater commitment from the employees. Such factors in this respect are very much effective and are greatly contributing towards organizational business performance in a much appropriate and effective manner (Aust et al., 2020). Moreover, with the involvement of its business development strategies, the company has also faced less absenteeism, greater productivity, employee collaboration, enhanced cooperation, and enthusiasm within the workforce. From such perspectives, the company by incorporating Soft HRM policies has received a greater set of employee engagement strategies and widens its scopes for organizational performance enhancement strategies to a much wider and efficient manner.
